The jewel in the crown of the WBCA is our little neighborhood park. In the mid-1990’s, WBCA purchased the land adjacent to the Water Association’s property as well as lots across the street for our WBCA Park and parking lot. Properties were purchased with funds from annual fundraisers like Summerfest, Bistro dinners, auctions, membership fees, and various other donations. We also reached an agreement with Warm Beach Water Association to clear their property, plant grass and maintain it for the use of their property.
Since then we have added many improvements to park proper, building a covered area, kitchen/storage building, bathrooms, cook shack, snow cone booth, and storage buildings, fire pit, playground, and permanent barbecues. The park has been used for many WBCA events including our big fundraising event, Summerfest; membership bbq's; an annual Easter Egg Hunt, Caroling in the Park, and a fitness challenge. The park is also used by community groups, such as the Greenwood Garden Club and the Warm Beach Free Methodist Church, and private groups for weddings, family reunions and club meetings.
The WBCA Board of Directors is responsible for maintaining and marketing the park and facilities. The park is open to the neighborhood for daily use and it can also be reserved for special events. Currently the cost is $50/day but anyone interested in getting more information can call our Park Manager, Gordon Riggs, at 360-440-5438.
